The History of James Henry Flooring

The James Henry Flooring story starts in 1995 when Jim (James) Hancock started as an apprentice Carpet Fitter and Floor layer at the tender age of 16 for Newards Flooring Contactors Ltd on White City in Manchester. With the help of his Dad (James Hancock Snr) and his contacts in the business, Jim secured an apprenticeship with one of the most highly regarded Carpet & Flooring Companies in the country. Newards specialised in high end Residential, Hotel and Office contracts throughout the UK & Europe.

Working at Newards, Jim trained & gained valuable experience with the flooring fitters, estimators & planners and plied his trade for more than 10 years.
At the age of 26, Jim decided on a change and moved on from Newards Flooring services to Branagan Flooring Services in Manchester.  Jim helped the company grow before opening his own business Prestige Floor Studio in Altrincham in 2009 during the recession with his then Amtico Rep Nick. Nick left the business in 2017 & Jim changed the name to James Henry Flooring.
The company continues to be one of the most respected and successful Flooring businesses in the North West in both residential and commercial areas and is approaching 10 years in Altrincham.
